Florida

The Florida region is an active vibrant SAQA region.  We have eight pods that meet on varying schedules.  We periodically have regional juried exhibits, and retreats as well as the occasional regional class offering with national quilt artists.  Our members have contributed art to our own Roaming Galleries of which we have three that are used to educate Florida quilt guilds and other groups about the Art Quilt and the SAQA organization.  We have a monthly newsletter and a Facebook group.

We are proud to say we have hosted a global SAQA exhibit here in Florida at the Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts in 2019 and we will be hosting a SAQA Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida.  We look forward to welcoming all SAQA members to our sunny Gulf Coast and we hope you will be able to join us.

The Florida region has created three Roaming Galleries. This is a sampling of work by Florida artists included in our Florida Roaming Galleries.
This is the opening night of one of our regional juried exhibits. Florida has an active exhibit committee. We have had three juried exhibits with a fourth in the works which will open in conjunction with the SAQA Conference in 2021.
A few of our members staffed a SAQA booth at the Lakeland, Florida Sewing Expo.
