The works are built from hand-printed fabrics and paper and finished as art quilts. This mixed media method of artmaking is the perfect vehicle for exploring ideas that interest me. Textures and rich colors become the vocabulary for digging into stories. I enjoy the rhythm of printing fabric, collaging the composition, and stitching to finish the work.
My goal is to create work that -- like a favorite book, revisited -- provides new things to discover over time.
I have exhibited in solo gallery exhibits, juried group exhibits, including regional and global exhibits sponsored by SAQA, and outdoor art festivals. My home studio in DeLand, Florida is where I work out new ideas and concepts, experiment with methods of fabric surface design, and construct my artwork.
I invite the viewer to look deeply with me. Perhaps we will both learn to see things in new ways.
