Artist Statement
I like to explore and capture ordinary but meaningful moments that make up our lives. Some of my work focuses on creating portraits of people, places, or things that I find around me; becoming a visual storyteller. I find inspirations in many places: photographs, artist models in drawing classes, or my imagination.
I also like to explore alternative materials and methods. I have cut up black out curtain material (that was my painting drop cloth) to create a new quilt. I have up-cycled and sewn window screen after my dog ran through it (rather than throwing it away). I like to create digital fiber art with inspirational photos or create iPad paintings that I then print on to fabric for stitching.
