Artist Statement
My style is pictorial and I like to create work that makes the viewer think about what has been going on or what will happen next. Sometimes there will be a message. I am especially interested in exploring perspective and light and am influenced by buildings and townscapes or simply something which has been going on in my life or the world around me.
I usually start by making a few drawings which I then transfer onto white cloth. I paint and then stitch, usually quite heavily. Quite often the background quilting will be in the form of text. Occasionally I make a stand-alone quilt but mostly work in a small series.
