Artist Statement
I am captivated by nature. I work with textiles to explore the contradictions of power and fragility, lush and stark, rough and smooth, unchanging and temporal. In a time when nature is under threat globally, I seek to highlight the beauty and fragility of this gift provided to us.
Inspired by the brushwork of Impressionism, I use textile layering to paint with fabric. My works explore the feelings of being immersed in nature and invite contemplation on our interaction with it.
