Artist Statement
My work combines abstract and representational styles and often shows people in relationship with each other and the out doors. I respond to my surroundings as well as the changing times and current events. Impermanence and communion are themes that repeat in my pieces. Within the work I have a balance of unfinished imperfect areas with those portions clearly in focus. I enjoy the wide range of voices inherent in the medium, and the way that these qualities add to what I have to say. I often combine commercial and painted fabrics, as well as hand and machine stitching.
