Artist Statement
Walking into a fabric store as a child, I would run my hand over all the bolts of fabric as I passed them. That love of fabric and texture has never left me. Over time, I have expressed love through my roles as a garment maker, a quilter, and now as a textile artist.
Through much of my work, I have created feelings of serenity and stillness by employing spareness, the soothing effect of horizon lines, and a limited color palette, as well as the comforting familiarity of textiles. Our world changes at a fast pace, and I hope my work provides a place for our souls to pause and be restored.
