Artist Statement
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and recently relocated to Lithuania, I have a background in Biochemistry and Physiology but have worked as a textile artist for the past 20 years.
My practice has developed through independent exploration, workshops and international festivals. I have taught internationally and exhibited in museums, salons and art fairs across Europe and the Americas. I am a member of the international textile group 20 Perspectives.
Working primarily with raw-edge appliqué and machine stitching, I build images through layered fabrics, carefully considering colour, value, shape and texture. Colour is my main language, shaping spaces and forms. Drawn to Abstract Expressionism, my work moves between abstraction and figuration, distilling recognizable subjects without seeking realism. Each composition is thoughtfully developed, allowing fabric and stitch to transform observations and ideas into a personal visual language.
