Artist Statement
Using fabric as my medium, I explore shape, line, transparency, colours. The feel of the fabric, the slow process of adding marks by hand stitching, the layering of colours and textures informs the outcome. I create mostly abstract and colourful textile collages. The process of creating my own fabrics through dyeing, painting, printing and other surface design techniques is an integral part of the final artwork.

I take inspiration from a multitude of sources like nature, architecture, history, music, geometry, language. Having lived on three different continents (Europe, Australia, now North America) has shaped my perception and sense of place and belonging. I react to the world around me and express my thoughts in an abstract way, using my personal vocabulary of design elements.

For the past 15 years, I have worked on developing, showing and marketing my art, as well as promoting textile arts, curating exhibitions and teaching workshops.
