Kim LaPolla captures nuance and duality in her stitched, layered, and embellished fiber art. She creates her art using a combination of spontaneous inspiration and passionate design. Constantly looking for the elements of design in nature and everyday objects, Kim enjoys the challenge of interpreting these elements in unexpected colors and patterns. She uses mostly commercially available materials as a means to express the subtle nuances and unexpected surprises that can be found when one closely examines just about any object, being, or feeling. Kim assembles her art using a variety of construction and surface design techniques. Kim’s work is always on display at the Greenville Arms 1889 Inn in Greenville, NY located in the Hudson Valley. The Greenville Arms is home to the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops (www.artworkshops.com), a nationally known venue for fine art workshops, including fiber art. Her work can also be found nationally in exhibits.
