Water grasses 2
An evening’s walk in Enniskillin, Northern Ireland brought us to the edge of a lake. A wall of tall water grasses swayed like dancers in the breeze and blocked the view of the setting sun. But ducks had created paths through the grasses out to the open water. This image swam in my head for years until I learned a way to make thin strips of fabric bend like the swaying grasses.
Cotton fabrics, mostly hand dyed by the artist.
Fused, pieced, machine quilted.
