She's Fading

She was a character, lively and smart in many ways, a bright light in my life. Over time, I noticed that her conversation and concentration were changing. It was as if someone had dimmed the lights. She was a shadow of her former self. I am talking about my ninety-three-year-old mom. The design for this piece began as I became aware of the change in her being. Overtime, my mom became a shadow of herself, not the person that raised me. She will always be my mom, but she has faded and is now gone.
