The light of a microscope can uncover an amazing world unseen by the naked eye. As it passes through thin slices of rocks and minerals, light reveals an amazing display of color, texture, and form. The flow of colors over the face of the slides is incredibly exciting. This piece is based on a drawing I made of a mica schist, a metamorphic rock containing mica, biotite, and muscovite.
