Receptaculums I & II: Lutcus lumen et Caeruleum tenebra

I bring texture to my work using a variety of materials, from conventional quilting fabrics to recycled designer upholstery samples, quilts I’ve made, and the liberal use of thread. I must take gravity into account as my art has escaped the wall to become sculpture, completing the three-dimensional path I'm on. Standing in front of my wall of collected fabric, pieces will catch my eye and bring color, texture, or pattern to the work. The receptacle series started with a ‘What if?’ question while making some of the structures for my botanical series. What if I leave these pieces open?
