Genesis of the Stars

Light gives life. Life creates art. Art uses color. Color depends on light. I love this virtuous circle—without light, I couldn’t create my quilts. Where does light come from? It comes from the stars. Our sun is a star. Until mankind learned to use fire, and later electricity, the only light available was that from the sun. The stars were born in the turbulence of the gas and dust clouds after the Big Bang. All chemical elements were created in the heat and light of the furnace of the stars. We are made of stardust and live and create because light exists.
