Past, present and future tents --- the interrupted lives of migrant refugees. Somber colors and dark surroundings reflect dire conditions. Relatively more colorful doorways and people lingering beyond those open flaps suggest continuing light and hope within.

I designed this piece specifically to enter the Textile Museum's 2016 show, "Stories of Migration".
Materials
Hand dyed and marbleized fabrics, cotton prints and batiks, Japanese woven wool and cotton, batting, threads.
Techniques
Machine piecing, machine quilting, machine line-work.
