Magnetite

This multilayered technique grew from working with Tyvek and synthetic fabrics. In this piece, I used lamé and synthetic silk strips and melted them before appliquéing them to the base fabric. Then I quilted and remelted them and watched as it developed into this polycrystalline texture.
