Textile Culture of Mexico - Sheri Brautigam

SAQA Seminar (Video Conversation)

Sheri Brautigam provides an overview of the history and culture of Mexican textiles, specifically in the Oaxaca region. This video has beautiful examples of hand-stitching and other needlework used on traditional clothing and original art. Sheri has worked as a textile designer in San Francisco, as an English Language Fellow for the US Embassy in Mexico, and as a serious collector and purveyor of fine indigenous textiles from Mexico and other parts of Latin America.
