Threads of the Games is a coalition of Southern California quilt guilds, in partnership with Road to California, jurying and presenting an international exhibition of Olympic and Paralympic sport themed quilt to display in multiple venues around Los Angeles and Long Beach during the 2028 Summer Games.
All quilters, fiber artists and quilt guilds are encouraged to participate. There are three challenges for quilters. Details are available on the website.
Call for entries is July 14, 2027 - September 17, 2027. All accepted quilts will exhibit at Road2CA and Road2VA 2028 before going on display during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Quilters will have the option to put their quilt up for silent auction during the Olympic displays, with the proceeds being split 50/50 between the maker and a designated youth sports or youth sewing charity. We will also produce a hardcover commemorative book of the collection.
