Telling Threads is going to be the new project of SAQA Europe & Middle East. We really want to encourage as many members as possible to take part. Working in groups, hopefully, will bring people together, create friendships and intensify connections in our region. But books by one individual artist are also welcome. We decided to leave as much freedom as possible for the creation of the books. There are no restrictions on how many contributions one artist can make. You may contribute to several books as well as make several pages for one book in coordination with the group and/or make your individual project. The visitors of the exhibitions will be allowed to touch the books. By allowing to touch, we make use of what is a strong point of textile art: the haptic quality. Experience shows that people are careful and enjoy touching very much.
