Shape Shifting

"Shape Shifting" is a solo exhibit of quilts by award-winning artist Cindy Grisdela exploring abstraction through geometric forms and fragmented curves. The foreground and background seem to shift in and out of focus as the eye moves across the composition.

Working with fabric like it is paint, Cindy creates dynamic contemporary compositions, cutting the shapes out freehand without a pattern or template and sewing them together with her sewing machine.

The exhibit encourages viewers to engage with shape, color, and movement on an intuitive level, discovering their own associations and narratives within the abstract framework.
