The nonprofit Quilt Alliance announces the return of their signature event, Quilters Take Manhattan in 2020. Every September from 2011-2017, quilt world stars like Marianne Fons, Denyse Schmidt, Jennifer Chiaverini, Hollis Chatelain, Amy Butler, Ricky Tims, Sherri Lynn Woods and others have shared their stories at the Quilters Take Manhattan event to support our cause.
Tickets to the QTM Main Event on Saturday, September 26 will include a full program of speakers, all-day access to our first QTM Quilt Exhibition and to the vendors area.
Our Main Event program in FIT's Haft Auditorium will include key lectures by Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi, Julie Silber and John M. (Jack) Walsh III, as well as a panel discussion with quiltmakers, curators and collectors.
The QTM Quilt Exhibition, featuring visually and historically exceptional quilts loaned by private collectors and artists, will be on display for the entire three-day weekend in the FIT Great Hall. Individual tickets will be on sale for the exhibition and other add-on events offered during the weekend.
Add-on events offered during the QTM weekend will include museum tours, walking tours of the Garment District and a Broadway outing, with more to be added.
Sponsorship, advertising and vending opportunities will be posted on the Quilt Alliance website by November 1, 2019, and pre-sale of discounted tickets will be offered to Quilt Alliance members by March 2, 2020. Ticket sales to the public will open on March 16, 2020.
