Upending traditional weaving techniques in the 1970s laid the foundation for Leisa Rich’s 50-year career as a fiber artist. This shaped her current approach to integrating modern technologies like 3D printing, laser engraving, and AI into her work.
Rather than turning away from her roots as a weaver, Leisa embraced new tools born of the loom to expand her creative possibilities, resulting in pieces that combine the tactile qualities of craft with the precision of digital fabrication.
Her work demonstrates how blending old and new techniques can yield uniquely compelling results. Throughout her career, Leisa has maintained a deep engagement with process and innovation, creating an ongoing dialogue between the past and the present.
