Canyon Quilters of San Diego is a 38-year-old active non-profit quilt guild with over 180 creative members who make everything involving textiles including traditional quilts, contemporary quilts, and the most cutting-edge art quilts.
The members have a broad range of interests, experience, and skill levels. Some members consider themselves beginners in their quilting journey and are looking to learn from workshops and other members. On the flip side, some Canyon members are published authors and/or prize-winning exhibitors, which includes being juried into the most prestigious shows.
We challenged each of our members several months ago to make an art quilt with the theme Illumination.
They were asked to interpret this theme in any way they chose, and we are excited to show the many creative ways they did this.
