NONJURIED SHOWCASE THEME
Artists are given "preposition" prompts and challenged to create small slow stitch panels that express a particular "preposition," whether in the abstract form or the literal meaning. These 8 prompts will be stitched on linen using thread and/or embroidery floss, embellished with the artist’s choice, and attached to a wooden spool for hanging display. Spools supplied by the artist. Spools should allow for panels at least 4 inches wide.
List of Prepositions: up, down, out, through, over, under, within, between
Artists are also challenged to use Neon Orange somewhere in at least one prompt. Artists may work in any order on prompts, but when stitched together, they should be in the order listed above.
Each panel representing a prompt must be 6 inches in length for an approximate 48” length in total. The width is determined by the size of the wooden spool the artist selects.
