Dr. Tony Jean Dickerson will discuss the deep connection between quilting and storytelling in the Black experience. As a member of the Racial Equality Speakers Bureau for Indiana Humanities, Dr. Dickerson reminds us that textile art is a way to preserve history, honor ancestors, and strengthen community bonds.
Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates, and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
