The Textile Society of America will host its Colloquium, (re)Membering, at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach, California. MOLAA is the nation’s leading museum of modern and contemporary Latin American art and culture, dedicated to preserving and promoting the artistic heritage of the Americas. This hybrid program will feature in-person attendance as well as livestream access, fostering engagement with local, national, and international audiences.
The colloquium convenes artists, designers, scholars, and cultural practitioners working across art, science, and material culture to explore how textiles serve as living repositories of memory, identity, and community. With a particular emphasis on Southern California–based creative practice, the half-day program includes a keynote address by Fafnir Adamites, plenary presentation by Maria Maea, and panel discussion including artist/designer Yasmin Mora, scientist/artists Maru García and Visions Textile Museum Executive Director Katrina Bruins.
Complimentary museum admission is included for in-person attendees, and access to the event recording will be provided to all registrants.
