Birds bring life into our landscapes and joy into our lives. SAQA’s “Aviary” exhibition was curated by Martha Sielman based on her book, “Stitched Journeys with Birds” (Schiffer 2023). Exhibiting artists Tracey Cameron (Alberta, Canada) and Linda Hoffmeister (Florida, USA) will speak about their art practices and the bird piece that is part of this exhibition. A Q&A session, moderated by Martha Sielman, will follow the presentation, and a slideshow of the full exhibition will be shown at both the beginning and end of the Textile Talk.
Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates, and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
