2023 Conference - Making Connections with Whova

Return to Main Conference page

The 2023 SAQA Conference is so much more than fabulous content and great speakers. You will have the opportunity to meet and interact with other SAQA members in person! SAQA will again be using the Whova event platform which will allow attendees to maximize their conference experience.

Whova will provide you with your personalized agenda and allow you to easily select your Friday Night Out and Saturday tour options. Plus you can connect with other attendees through discussion groups, messaging, and in-person meetups.

Please contact us at conference@saqa.art or read our Whova FAQs for more information.

Creating your Whova Account

To take advantage of all that the conference has to offer, you will need to setup an account on Whova. While it is not required, it is highly recommended as it will provide you with your personalized agenda.

When setting up your Whova account. you will need to use the same email that you used when you registered for the conference (otherwise you will be prompted for an invitation code). Do not try to login with your social media logins.

If you have any problems, please contact us at conference@saqa.art.

Whova offers both a Web app (accessed through a browser on your computer - Chrome is recommended) and a mobile app (iOS and Android). Unless you are bringing your computer to the conference, we suggest getting used to the mobile version.

Search "Whova" in the App Store on your iPhone/iPad or in Google Play on your Android phone or device. If you already have the app, please do download the latest version!

For details about using both, check out Whova's official user guides:

How to use the Whova App

Access Whova via App

Once you download the app, you can sign to your existing Whova account or create a new account. If you account has the same email used when you registered, the 2023 Conference will appear on your list of events. Alternatively you can also search for "SAQA" on the list of events.

After you access the event, you will be prompted to complete your online profile. This is a great way for other attendees to get to know you! In addition to a profile picture, you can also include your website, bio, and social media accounts. You can always go back and add more information later.

Access Whova via Browser

If you prefer to check out Whova on your computer, you can click here to create your Whova Account. If you used Whova last year (and your email is the same), you can just log into your existing Whova account. Your profile (and messages) will be there waiting for you along with new friends to meet.

NOTE: The email you use in Whova needs to match the email you used to register with. If these do not match, you will receive an error message. Contact us at conference@saqa.art if you have any issues.

Ease of Access to Information

Once you sign up with Whova, everything about the conference will be readily available in a single place. This includes displaying the full conference schedule along with your personalized agenda. You can even add sessions and meet-ups to your preferred calendar of choice (Outlook, Google, etc.) Details about each presentation and speaker are just a click away.

More Networking Opportunities

Whova also allows us to create a private, online community just for conference attendees. Best of all, you will have access to this community before, during, and after the conference (through the end of June).

All registered attendees can set up a profile on Whova and will be listed in the online directory (you can hide your profile if you wish). You can add your social media links, share some interests, and include a bio and profile photo.

Just as easy as texting your friends and family, you will be able to message and share photos with other attendees. No personal information (email or phone number) is ever shared unless you specifically allow it. You can also use Whova to setup meetups during the conference (Bananagrams in the lobby?)

If that's not enough, there will also be an online discussion board where people can post on different topics and share their thoughts.
