Curated by Lisa Call
This collection of works demonstrate the dynamic tension inherent in pattern, where deliberate repetition establishes a foundation of order and rhythm while variations infuse the work with vitality and intrigue.
The selected pieces demonstrate that repetition, though inherently stabilizing, becomes compelling through nuanced deviations that disrupt predictability. This interplay of recurring motifs and unexpected shifts creates a visual dialogue that encourages viewers to engage deeply with the work.
In addition to their exploration of pattern, these works exhibit an overall interesting composition and a robust use of color. Thoughtful structuring guides the viewer's eye through intricate designs, while vibrant hues and shifts in color amplify the impact of the repetitive elements.
Together, these factors not only highlight the power of systematic design but also celebrate the essential variations that breathe life into art, inviting a deeper, reflective interaction with the work.
