Sue Cortese

My work is about relationships. Relationships that people have with each other and with the natural world. These connections take shape and illuminate similarities and differences across the range of human experience and all its complexities. Another important feature of my work is the quilting stitches; they are a quintessential element for a quilt to be more than just fibers or fabric. They not only provide structure but also allow me to highlight features, develop texture, and build on the relationships of objects within the work.
