Artist Statement
I am an award-winning textile artist living in New Jersey. I use repurposed silk saris to create abstract and impressionist landscapes. Inspired by open spaces and vast horizons, I seek to evoke a sense of endless tranquility. My work has appeared in national and international exhibitions, including Quilt National, has been published in books and magazines, and can be found in private collections throughout the US and Europe, including Stony Brook Hospital in Long Island, NY.

The beautiful silk sari remnants I use in my work vary greatly in color, weave and weight, bring a variety of sheen, pattern and texture to my surface designs. They are torn and tattered, a distressed quality that adds to the visual and metaphorical language and embraces the beauty of the imperfect and precious fragility of the impermanent.
