This work depicts the vast destruction of lives and habitat caused by wildfires in our warming climate. Flame is represented by bright red and orange hues, embedded throughout the abstract design amidst dried green and yellow foliage. Wind as both a cause and a consequence of wildfires is portrayed by white linear stripes and swirls, as well as blue circular regions (downdrafts), and red (updrafts, or flame tornados). Areas of black show the aftermath. The overall design is intentionally chaotic, as is the propagation of such fires within complex, mountainous terrains.
