View From the Turret

European architecture is so wonderfully intricate. The US is so young that we have nothing like that here. I took this picture in Germany when I was visiting my daughter, who lived there and knew I had to do it in fabric. Each shade of each color is a hand picked piece from my hand dyed fabric boxes. I loved the challenge of trying to replicate the crumbling stone. I was on the sidewalk and saw this little boy leaning out of the turret so he had to be included in the art quilt.
