Rare Sighting is a photoshop-composited image. One of my oil paintings and a photograph of a yellow-rumped warbler were layered, blended, then digitally printed on cotton. The printed image was then machine appliquéd to a salvaged remnant of fabric, heavily embroidered, and quilted. Because I'm a painter, it's also touched in places with oil sticks. I use the AI tools offered in Photoshop as I would any new brush. My current work integrates my parallel studio practices of oil painter, photographer, and textile artist.
