Pulse

I am responding to the strong black visual line of the serged seam against the varied recording of dyed patterning. It moves through the three different weights of silk emphasizes how each of the weaves responds to the structure of the stitch. Each piece is connected with hand stitching to its neighbor and then loosely held by soft backing. This black line provides both visual and actual movement and structure. It “Pulses” with movement for me.
