Textiles are the media I use to communicate the complexity of our contemporary world, while simultaneously embedding a personal narrative. My process uses improvisational techniques for piecing and hand-appliqué quilting. The materials include a mix of previously worn clothing, off-cuts from garment making and yardage. I explore the tension between control vs. chao; the known vs the. unknowable and society vs. the individual .
