Marine Alert: Abalone Collapse
35 in(79 cm x 89 cm)
Through art, I choose to alert my viewer about harm caused to our fellow human beings and to our planet. Along the California Coast, abalone survival is in danger. Their food source, bull kelp, has collapsed, devoured by the proliferation of purple sea urchins. Global warming has triggered a complex sequence of consequences, leading to this alert. Marine scientists are urgently working to re-establish the bio-health of coastal marine life. Quilted by Angie Woolman.
