On Loose Base

Loosely woven, wool-blended fabrics are generally excluded for quilting and piecing in favor of more tightly woven fabrics. The theme of this exhibition inspired me to use some of my cherished but often overlooked stock. A fraying found object provided a focal point, adding some organic form to the composition.
