Kitchen Window at Dorothy Avenue
We had just moved from Wisconsin to California and I was a recent art graduate in painting as well as a stay at home mom. I had begun making quilts a few years earlier in WI. At the time of the making of this piece, I was balancing painting, quilting and mothering. I loved using photos as patterns. This quilt was part of my Master's show a few years later at San Jose State University.
Thread, recycled fabric
Photo used as pattern by projecting image onto paper and then tracing, Machine applique, hand quilted with big stitches.
