Bumblebees buzz and hum as they impatiently flit from one flower to the next, pollinating as they go. The Common Eastern Bumblebee (Bombus impatiens) is the major pollinator of flowers, vegetables and fruits in eastern North America. This bumblebee is busy collecting and eating pollen from an echinacea flower, some of which will stick to its legs and body and eventually fall off, pollinate the flower and produce seeds for goldfinches.
