For millennia, the Colorado River flowed through Glen Canyon, carving its sandstone walls into serpentine shapes, slot canyons, and alcoves. Glen Canyon Dam hid the canyon’s treasures under the waters of Lake Powell until, for a few short years, drought allowed the canyon to reveal some of its secrets once more.
