Doug Van Es2 (composition #1)

One of AI's rudimentary principles is that it scours the internet, collecting a base of unlimited data points used to create something new. I'm playing around with this concept to find new forms. I've discovered a way to hang my work in unlimited positions. Once I finish a piece, I punch grommets around the perimeter. I then place screws in my wall at random and hook the grommets onto the screws. By doing this, I'm creating billions of options to reinterpret one singular piece. I'm embracing the material and abstracting from the newly found volume. I then photograph these new forms to use them as source material for a new trompe l'oeil quilt.
