When I began painting these spheres, I was entranced by the shapes. As I added layers of ink, I got the feeling I could peer deeply into the inked spots, like they were dimensional and I could travel into them, beyond the surface into the deep places. Don’t you wonder, with all the repetitive motions and long gazing, what I found there?
