During the 70s I had a thing about peoples kitchen sinks. I thought they were somewhat akin to an altar in the church with the priestess blessing the food and cleaning the vessels.
I made three in this series, choosing some of my closest friends in their kitchens, and going to their homes to photograph them at work at their altars.
Materials
Thread and recycled fabric
Techniques
Pattern made from a photo projected onto paper and drawing around the shapes. Machine applique, hand quilted with big stitches.
