This was an experimental piece in which I stitched ridges in a very thin Mylar to give it body. The central section combines Asian brocade and graffiti-printed cotton. The title refers to the genre of resplendent fabrics often depicted behind religious figures in Italian painting.
Materials
Mylar, commercial and hand-dyed fabrics, thread
Techniques
Pieced construction, applique, transfer printing, sewn by hand and machine
