Changes IV is one of a series. The title refers to a change in my quilting technique and also to the color change that happens every autumn to the hardwood forest where I live in Southern Indiana. To explain my technical change: At times I have some left-over pieces of painted archival tissue which I use to create my watercolor collage on paper. I decided to try fusing some of the painted tissue to fabric to add texture to my art quilts. I loved the result and "Changes" led to my first acceptance into a SAQA Juried Exhibit. All tissue receives a coat of acrylic medium to strengthen it for quilting.
Silk Habotai, archival tissue, transparent watercolor paint.
