Book Burning

This collage quilt was a reaction to the book bans and burning around the country. AI image generations were used to create its components. The text input for the central image was entered into the 2022 AI image generation program DALL·E. " A Magritte painting of a woman with books attached to her head by strings and floating above her, a far view." As with all AI generations, the initial image required several attempts and later Photoshop cleanup. The red books around the edge were generated from the input text, “burning red leather books in a variety of art styles.” The AI image generation resulted in many options that were not possible without it, including a variety of burning books.
