This piece was based on a photo I took of myself, showing the lonely apple we grew one year on our apple tree.
Although it was just one apple, it was huge and perfect!
My mother was a great gardener. We have a photo of her with her gigantic potato that she was so proud of—it weighed over 2 lbs. My photo was a tribute to her magnificent gardening ability, knowing I could never live up to her in so many ways, though I continue to try.
