Above the Fruited Plain

Above the Fruited Plain was part of my effort to take piecing into what I hoped was unexplored territory -- in this case, creating a strong sense of landscape using only rectangles of commercially available fabric. Through such simple means, I still wanted the piece to have a distinctive atmosphere -- serenely beautiful.
